Police in Blenheim have arrested a man after a hit and run road accident.
A Christchurch man, 37, whose car collided with a barrier south of Blenheim, was struck by a passing car as he got out of his damaged vehicle on Saturday night.
The driver of the car sped off.
Detective Gavin Nichols says the police have found the Mazda Demio vehicle they were seeking and the driver is assisting them.
The injured man is in hospital with serious head injuries.
