Police have busted what they believe is a drug ring in Coromandel, seizing firearms and a taser as well as tens of thousands of dollars worth of methamphetamine.
They say armed officers were involved in raids on a number of properties in Whangamata, Waihi, Hikutaia and Kereta as well as two in Auckland on Wednesday.
Officers also found cannabis, about $60,000 worth of the pre-cursor ContacNT, and equipment used to make methamphetamine.
Five men and two women face a range of charges including manufacturing and supplying methamphetamine, and illegal possession of firearms.
The police say further charges are likely.
