A man is in custody after an Armed Offenders Squad callout in the Lower Hutt suburb of Petone.
Police were notified of an incident at a Nelson Street boarding house before 9am on Friday.
A man was reported to have a firearm.
A police spokesperson says the man has been arrested and AOS officers have left the scene.
