Air NZ boosts summer flights to Queenstown

Air New Zealand will almost double the number of trans-Tasman flights to Queenstown over the next year, from 14 to 26 a week.

The airline's group general manager, Ed Sims, says the resort has enormous untapped growth outside the winter months already popular with Australians.

He says the summer months are becoming increasingly popular with Australians, so flights from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane will be stepped up from November.

Destination Queenstown will also team up with Air New Zealand to provide extra promotion of the resort in Australia.
