Police on the Kapiti Coast are asking for the public's help in tracking down two cars that may be linked to the disappearance of suspected homicide victim Raymond Piper.
The cars, a red 2006 Holden Commodore and a maroon 1993 Nissan Bluebird, were last seen at the Otaihanga Domain on the morning of 19 April - a month before Mr Piper disappeared.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Oxnam says he's not prepared to speculate on the relevance of the vehicles but wants to know more about them and who might have been in them.
Police launched a homicide investigation on Monday after a forensic examination of a vehicle found near Whanganui indicated that the 23-year-old Mr Piper had died violently.
Senior Sgt Oxnam says the police still want to hear of sightings of that vehicle - a dark green Mazda, registration WC9996.
