Two primary schools spent part of Tuesday afternoon in lockdown because of reports of an armed man on a street in Auckland's North Shore.
Police say they received a report of a man walking in the Glenfield area with what looked like a rifle.
Police spokesperson Kevin Loughlin says officers tracked the man to a residential address, and have been talking to him.
He says there were no reports of any shots fired, and cordons around Sunnybrae and Coronation Roads have been removed.
