Police on Auckland's North Shore have launched a homicide investigation following the death of a woman in a house fire.
Emergency services were called to a property on View Road in Glenfield at about 7.30pm on Saturday and a woman's body was found inside.
A man located nearby with serious burns is currently in hospital in an induced coma.
The police say no one else is being sought in relation to the incident.
They say a post-mortem has revealed the woman suffered a violent death.
