A 13-year-old girl is in hospital with serious leg injuries after she was run over by a car in a Hastings suburb, police say.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave de Lange says officers were told a 17-year-old driver crashed through a shop window in Camberley on Tuesday after three teenagers assaulted him.
When the driver's uncle arrived to help his nephew, he was also assaulted and other people armed with golf glubs and machetes then joined in, Mr de Lange says.
He says one of three youths accused of involvement in the initial assault allegedly drove a car into the group who were fighting.
The car ran over the girl, who was standing nearby.
A 15-year-old has been charged with serious assault, and more arrests are likely.
