Power has been restored to most of those cut off by bad weather in the upper North Island.
Electricity company Vector reported mid-Monday that only about 170 customers in Wellsford, Muriwai, and Hatfields Beach were still without power.
Overnight, the problem was more widespread. About 10,000 lost power in the Rodney-Kaipara area, as did 1300 customers in pockets around Muriwai.
Strong wind in Auckland on Sunday sent trees crashing onto roads and blew roofing off two homes.
The fire service said that by 10pm it had had at least 10 weather-related calls.
