An attempt to break the world record for the largest haka is to be made in September.
The record of 3,264 haka performers was set in Ngaruawahia two years ago.
Rugby organisers in Nelson want to beat that, as a way of kicking-off the region's hosting of teams in next year's Rugby World Cup.
Training in ka mate will be held before the record attempt at Tahunanui Beach on 11 September .
