Police are investigating a suspicious fire at Rotorua Lakes High School.
Emergency services were called to the fire, in the school's science block, at just after 10pm on Monday.
Detective Sergeant John Wilson says the fire caused extensive damage to the building's entrance-way and two classrooms.
The school was closed on Tuesday.
