A number of school students were shaken and bruised when a bus left the road and ended up in a ditch at Tatuanui in eastern Waikato on Wednesday morning.
Police say the bus ran off the road, but the driver managed to get it back onto the seal.
However, it left the road again and went into a ditch before finally resting against a fence.
Police say the children were a bit shaken up and suffered some brusing but no one was seriously injured.
The driver was taken to a medical centre for a check-up.
An investigation is underway into what caused the crash.
