Two men have been charged with robbing three Christchurch pharmacies.

They're accused of robbing the central city Bealey Pharmacy at knife-point on Friday night and taking a large quantity of controlled drugs.

The unemployed men, aged 45 and 48, were arrested shortly afterwards in what the police say was a stolen vehicle.

They have also been charged with robberies of the St Martins Pharmacy last month and the Woodham Road Pharmacy two weeks ago.

The men were to appear in the Christchurch District Court on Saturday.
