Police in Bay of Plenty plan to ram home a blunt message about drink-driving to more than 2000 senior students.
Three serious car crashes in the region recently have killed two young people and left more than a dozen seriously injured.
Police will hold a four-day expo this month in Tauranga that 2400 students will attend. It will include speakers who've been in serious crashes where alcohol was a factor.
The organiser, Wendy Nicholls, says that as a region Bay of Plenty features as a community at risk, for the number of fatal and serious crashes involving alcohol.
She says last year drink-driving was a factor in 30% of crashes in the western part of the region.
