A ban on drinking alcohol in public came into effect in two more Wellington suburbs on Tuesday.
In June, the Wellington City Council decided to extend its liquor ban to Mount Cook and Newtown, after narrowly rejecting a proposal for a total city-wide ban.
Reports of disorder and trouble, particularly in Newtown, prompted the council to review its liquor bylaw.
The alcohol ban already covered the central city, Oriental Bay, Mount Victoria Lookout, Aro Valley and Central Park.
