The number of people who have died from swine flu this year is now nine.

The ministry says the number of people contracting swine flu is still on the rise and areas that had fewer cases last year, are reporting more this year.

Public Health deputy director Darren Hunt says more than a million people have taken the flu vaccine and about 5000 doses are still in stock. Availability will depend on demand

Dr Hunt says a new vaccine being ordered is suitable for only 18 - 59 year-olds.
