5:03 am on 22 August 2010

More than 50,000 people have been evacuated from a city in northeastern China after flooding from the Yalu River.

State media say 200 houses in the city of Dandong have been destroyed after the Yalu River, which runs between China and North Korea, broke its banks.

There is also flooding in North Korea.

China's National Meteorological Center has warned that torrential rains will fall in northeastern, central and southwestern regions in the next 24 hours.

More than 700 people died in a landslide triggered by heavy rains in Zhouqu county, Gansu, last week.
