Pay offer from bus company accepted by union

Despite the Tramways Union accepting an offer of an 11% pay rise from a bus company in Wellington last week, it says strike action against another company may follow.

The offer was agreed on at a stop work meeting of Go Wellington and Valley Flyer drivers working for the company, New Zealand Bus.

Go Wellington drivers will receive an increase of 11.5% and Valley Flyer drivers 11%.

However, union secretary Kevin O'Sullivan says members of another company, Mana Coach Services, may be forced to strike if the company does not improve work conditions.
