Reward planned in Scott Guy killing

7:59 pm on 22 August 2010

The son of a school teacher who was murdered in 2006, is planning to offer a reward for information that leads to the conviction of Scott Guy's killer.

Mr Guy was found dead in the driveway of his Feilding farm last month. He had been shot.

The killer of Tokoroa teacher Lois Dear was sentenced to a minimum of 18 years in prison in 2007.

Her son, Kevin McNeil, says he will appeal to the public throughout September to contribute money for the reward which he will collect in the Lois Muir Memorial Trust.

The police investigating the death of Scott Guy say several other groups have also offered reward money.

Detective Inspector Sue Schwalger says offering a reward needs to be carefully considered so as not to attract misleading information.
