White Island quake felt in Canterbury

An earthquake near White Island in the Bay of Plenty has been felt as far away as Akaroa in Canterbury.
The magnitude 4.7 quake was recorded by the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences at 0.18am on Monday.
The epicentre was 210km north of White Island at a depth of 300km.
