State Highway 65 between Murchinson and Springs Junction - known as the Shenandoah highway - was closed overnight after a milk tanker overturned.
The tanker was blocking the highway between Creighton and Rappahannock Roads, about 10km north of Maruia.
Police say the road was likely to be closed until 5am on Wednesday.
