Auckland police are checking missing persons files after finding a woman's body floating in Waitematā Harbour.
A post-mortem has been carried out but the body has yet to be identified.
Police say the woman had a ring on her right hand and a small silver cross around her neck.
The body was discovered on Sunday morning at Chelsea Bay on the North Shore which is accessible only through private property.
Police say the death is not being considered as suspicious.
