Free access to wireless internet on Wellington waterfront

12:05 pm on 14 September 2010

The Wellington waterfront will have access to free wireless internet by Christmas.

Trade Me, with help from Wellington City Council, will deliver wi-fi along Queen's Wharf, across to the NZX building and along towards Te Papa.

Trade Me says it wanted to offer the service because it enjoys being part of Wellington, which it describes the internet capital of the country.

The company says the service will run on a trial basis for 12 months.
