Police in Auckland have confirmed that the wheelie bin belonging to missing woman Carmen Thomas has been found.
The 32-year-old mother, who worked as an escort, has not been seen since 27 June.
The wheelie bin was missing from her Remuera home.
Police believe Ms Thomas has been killed and her body disposed of.
A spokesperson says the wheelie bin was found on 1 September in Auckland and is a significant development.
The bin is undergoing forensic testing.
Police won't say where the bin was located or if anything relevant to the case was in it.
