Plane damaged at Invercargill airport

An Air New Zealand plane has been damaged at Invercargill Airport after snow on the tarmac confused the pilot, causing the aircraft to stop in the wrong place.

A spokesperson says the ATR aircraft taxied to the terminal after touching down on Sunday morning.

The pilot stopped short of the correct location because snow was blocking markings.

The spokesperson says an air-bridge was swung out and clipped the wing of the plane causing minor damage.
