9:56 pm on 24 September 2010

A search team is at a construction site in central Auckland of interest in the investigation into a missing South African woman.

Carmen Thomas, 32, of Panmure, has not been since 27 June. Police believe her body was dismembered and disposed of.

There is continuing activity at a Victoria Street construction site in the central business district.

A Radio New Zealand reporter says objects can be seen being lowered into a well.

Police say inquiries are also being made at an address in east Auckland.

More than 55 search warrants have been executed in the investigation so far. Items have been submitted for forensic examination.

A former partner of Ms Thomas, Bradford Callaghan, 32, is under arrest and charged with murder.

Police are not ruling out further arrests being made.
