The Transport Agency says a new road layout near the Manukau extension motorway on State Highway 20 is causing delays to motorists.
When westbound lanes of the extension opened on Sunday, access to the south-western motorway from Roscommon Rd was closed to allow further road construction to take place.
That caused morning peak delays, says the agency, which is advising drivers to use Wiri Station Rd and Lambie Dr to get onto the new motorway, avoiding Roscommon Rd and Noel Burnside Rd.
The agency says airport-bound drivers should use George Bolt Memorial Drive.
The road layout will remain in place until late December, when the motorway work is due to be completed.
