Health officials say even though the flu season is almost over, swine flu has not gone away completely.
The Ministry of Health has issued its last regular update on swine flu, saying of the 20 swine flu-related deaths reported so far this year, 15 were caused by the H1N1 virus.
Last year, 35 people died from swine flu in New Zealand.
The ministry says 727 people have been hospitalised with swine flu this year.
It says the swine flu pandemic is officially over, but the virus will continue to circulate for years.
