No extension of time on motorway submissions

1:14 pm on 15 October 2010

Residents against an Auckland motorway project that's being fast-tracked by the Government say they have not been given enough time to have their voices heard.

The 20-working day period for submissions to the Environmental Protection Authority on the $2 billion Waterview connection in Mount Albert closes at 5pm on Friday.

Opponent Margi Watson says the thousands of pages of documents on the project have been very hard for lay people to process in four weeks.

Requests by Mrs Watson and other residents for an extension have been refused by the EPA and Environment Minister, Nick Smith.
