100-seat blind spot in revamped Eden Park

The $270 million revamp of Eden Park for the Rugby World Cup has left a blind spot affecting 100 seats.

Eden Park Trust Board chairman John Waller says people sitting in the area would not be able to see about a fifth of the field.

Rugby World Cup marketing and communications manager Shane Harmon says a decision has not yet been made on whether to sell the seats.

Mr Harmon says they would only be made available if a game was otherwise sold out, and they would be discounted.

Mr Waller says the seats have been installed in case Eden Park ever gets the funding to redevelop the west stand.
