Police have named a woman camper who died after being shot by a hunter near Turangi on Friday.
She was Rosemary Margaret Ives, 25, a school teacher from Lower Hutt.
Her body was found in the Kaimanawa Ranges about 11pm on Friday.
A post mortem was being held in Auckland on Sunday.
Police say the hunter responsible was with a group and he did not know the victim.
A Hamilton man, 25, has been charged with careless use of a firearm. He is due to appear in the Taupo District Court on Wednesday.
