Eviction notices issued to the residents of 29 waterfront properties at Little Waihi in Bay of Plenty have been put on hold by Te Arawa Lakes Trust.
Residents at the settlement, east of Tauranga, were warned five months ago, that inadequate sewerage systems meant their homes were a health hazard.
But the residents say the building of a $16 million wastewater scheme, starting early next year, should solve any effluent issues.
Now the landlord says it is time for a comprehensive review of the properties built on leased land.
The trust says it wants to learn about the size of the properties and whether they are compliant with regulations, including the building code.
