A former principal of Hamilton's Fraser High School has appeared in court on 61 fraud charges.
Martin Elliot is also accused at the Hamilton District Court of money laundering and three charges of false accounting.
Mr Elliot appeared before a registrar and was bailed to reappear on 7 December.
No pleas were entered but his lawyer indicated the charges would be defended.
