6:32 am on 10 November 2010

The Transport Agency will try to resolve a rent arrears issue it has with an Auckland business that must relocate to make way for a motorway.

Mt Roskill-based wire manufacturer Faulkner Collins has fallen $99,000 behind in rent in the past two years while negotiating the amount the agency will pay to relocate it.

The Transport Agency, which owns and leases the land to Faulkner Collins, says the business must begin moving in December before

the contruction of part of the Waterview Connection begins.

It says that in a meeting on Wednesday it will explain the steps it will take to resolve the rent arrears situation.

Faulkner Collins says if the agency meets the relocation costs the company believes it is entitled to it will be able to pay the rent.

Chief executive Hadley Wright says the relocation deadline set by the Transport Agency is impossible to meet.
