All Black hooker Keven Mealamu has had his four-week ban for head-butting the England captain Lewis Moody reduced to two weeks on appeal.

The 31-year-old will miss this weekend's match against Scotland and next week's clash with Ireland in Dublin, but will be able to return against Wales a week later.

Mealamu was cited after grabbing Moody's shirt and appearing to move his head towards the back of the flanker's during the All Blacks' 26-16 win at Twickenham last Saturday.

An International Rugby Board appeal committee chaired by South Africa's Peter Ingwersen met in Edinburgh and determined the incident was not intentional and taht there were mitigating circumstances.

Hikawera Elliot will make his Test debut against Scotland at Murrayfield.
