New Zealand have scraped into the semifinals of the FastNet World Series in Liverpool.
The FastNet Ferns will play top qualifiers Jamaica in the speed netball tournament on Sunday after an even tougher second day when they lost to England 26-24, then drew 27-27 with Jamaica.
The defending champions were not the only ones to struggle, with Australia edged 30-32 by Jamaica, before drawing with Malawi then thrashing a winless South Africa.
Malawi beat the South Africans by 11 points then lost a close game to England to just miss out on the playoffs.
Second-placed England will face third-placed Australia in the other semifinal.
