A second half strike from Marko Jesic on Saturday netted the Jets their second win in the space of a week.
The Jets now have 15 points and are back in touch with the top six, while Wellington's woes continue with just one win away from home this season, AAP reports.
The Phoenix are now eighth while the Brisbane Roar remain top despite drawing 1-1 with the North Queensland Fury at Suncorp Stadium.
