New Zealander gets Australian aged-care job

New Zealand's deputy health and disability commissioner, Rae Lamb, has been appointed the next aged-care commissioner in Australia.

The appointment was announced on Friday by Australian Minister of Mental Health and Ageing Mark Butler.

Ms Lamb has been deputy health and disability commissioner for the past five years. Before that she was health correspondent for Radio New Zealand.

She takes up the Melbourne-based job early next year.
