Pedestrian education about buses to be extended

9:12 am on 4 December 2010

A campaign by Wellington City Council to educate pedestrians about a new central city bus route has been extended for another week.

Three people have been hit by buses since the route through Manners Mall, which was previously only for pedestrians, opened last Sunday.

Infrastructure director Stavros Michael says more road safety officers now patrolling the footpath along Manners Street.

Tape will stay in place along the route until there is a noticeable change in behaviour.
