Police say a post mortem on a teenager whose body was found in a creek north of Wellington on Sunday night shows he drowned.
They say friends found the 17-year-old near Rata Street in Wainuiomata at about 8pm, after he failed to turn up to work.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Harwood says the group had been at a party in the area on Saturday evening.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
