Kapiti Coast District Council is boosting drinking water with bore water, because river levels are low.
Bore water will make up 25% of the total supply.
The mix of water will reach customers in Waikanae, Paraparaumu and Raumati by Friday evening.
The council says there should be no noticeable change in quality.
It says more bore water will be needed if consumption does not drop.
