A two-year-old boy lost his lower arm in a lawn-mower accident in the northern Hawke's Bay town of Wairoa on saturday.
The boy was flown by the rescue helicopter to Hawke's Bay Hospital in Hastings, where he is in the intensive care unit.
A spokesperson for the Hawke's Bay District Health Board says the boy is in a critical condition.
Police in Wairoa did not attend the accident and couldn't provide any more information.
