Police in Rotorua have charged the teenage driver of a van which crashed in July, killing one person and injuring 10 others.
The group of 12 friends was travelling back from a party in Taupo when the vehicle flipped and crashed on State Highway 5. All 12 were thrown from the van.
A front-seat passenger, Jesse Howe, 17, died 22 days later.
The driver, 18, faces a charge of dangerous driving causing death and 10 charges of dangerous driving causing injury.
He will appear in court on 11 January.
