The Corrections Department says it has no concerns about radiation levels in cellphone jammers installed at 20 prisons.

Cellphone jammers, which work by blocking the signal which a cellphone receives, were installed in the prisons about two years ago at a cost of more than $10 million.

The department says installing the new technology cost almost twice what was budgeted, but the jammers have been very effective.
