A plea will be made on Monday to Prime Minister John Key to "save" New Chums beach, on the Coromandel Peninsula.
A development for 20 houses is proposed nearby.
[image:892:third:right]The Green Party says people will position themselves on Matarangi beach, to form the words "John Key, save me, New Chums".
MP Catherine Delahunty says 90% of the eastern Coromandel is already given over to subdivisions.
She says the sale of land at Baring Head, Wellington, to a public consortium is a good example of how New Chums could be "saved".
