Hasselhoff was at the Bay of Plenty beach on Thursday morning to promote a new ice-cream. He arrived in a surf club rescue boats.

Surf Club chairman Stephen Murray says about 3000 people lined the beach for Hasselhoff's arrival, some with signs saying 'Don't Hassle the Hoff'.
