A 27-year-old woman charged with murdering her newborn baby will remain in Hillmorton Hospital in Christchurch.
The woman is undergoing psychiatric assesment and was excused from appearing in the Christchurch District Court on Friday because of her mental state.
The woman, whose name is suppressed, is due in court again on 21 January.
