Jet boat company allowed to resume operations

Jet boating company Thunder Jet has been given approval to operate rides on the Kawarau River, following a two-and-a-half year legal challenge by a rival.

Kawarau Jet had tried to block the company, citing safety and communication concerns.

The Queenstown-based company is being allowed to resume commercial operations by Environment Court judge Laurie Newhook.

Thunder Jet spokesperson Duncan Storrier says the decision is a huge relief.
