A motorcyclist has died after a fall from his bike during the an event near Ohakune.
The police say the man, who was aged in his late twenties, fell from his bike on Saturday during the annual Desert Storm motor bike trail ride in the Karioi Forest.
They say no one witnessed the accident, but other riders on the scene within seconds of the crash found the rider unconscious.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
