Traffic is moving slowly on the Centennial Highway near Pukerua Bay north of Wellington, where two cars collided on Saturday afternoon.
One was towing a boat which fell onto the road and needed to be moved by a crane.
Both lanes are open, but the police are warning of very slow-moving traffic.
